One arc squarely focuses on a very serious issue, and here, the lack of real choice in the direction of the story-and your resulting involvement in what happens-will probably make you powerfully uncomfortable.

While Red Dead Redemption has focused mostly on the story of John Marston, Red Dead 2 is about the whole gang of Van der Linde-as a community, as an idea, and as the Wild West's death rattle. It's also about Arthur, but his very personal, very messy story supports a larger tale as the lens through which you see the gang. Some frustrating systems and a predictable structure of missions end up serving that story well, although it takes patience to get through them and understand why. Red Dead Redemption 2 is an excellent prequel, but it's also in its own right an emotional, thought-provoking story, and it's a world that's hard to leave when it's done.
